mick and Ollie
What started as pipe dream more than two decades ago has finally become a reality as of August 2020. September 2011, two brothers walked onto a plane in Dublin airport bidding farewell to family and friends to pursue their dreams of owning and operating a mechanical repair company in Australia over 15000km from home.
From that year we have spent over two decades combined working with Merlo, the industry’s leading telehandler. Beginning our journey at Merlo Group Australia in 2011, we were employed to back up and support all new and existing telehandlers for the state of Western Australia.
We have assisted in the sales of more than 200 Merlo telehandlers which included PDI’s, mine spec specific and LMS installations (Load management systems which adhered to EN15000), while also providing aftersales backup, warranty repairs, service and technical support to over 200 existing customers in WA.
When the dealer network was introduced in 2013, we were given the opportunity to leave MGA and join new dealers and pass on our knowledge and experience with Merlo to help grow the new network in WA. Seven years later we were ready to stand alone and put our ideas on the table.
About Merlo
It was in 1964 that Amilcare Merlo founded Merlo SPA in Cervasca, Italy, and began manufacturing mobile construction equipment.
Merlo’s first telehandler came in 1981 with the SM series, which is still in use in some countries to this day. Since that first machine, a number of real revolutions have followed, including the first for side-engine telescopic handlers, rotary telehandlers, the first genuine agricultural tractor/telehandler (Merlo’s Multifarmer)
With more than half a century of construction, mining, agriculture and safety experience, Merlo strives to refine technologies to better the way we operate and, due to their creative approach to product creation, Merlo is now the world’s leading provider of hydrostatic transmission telehandlers.
Today, Merlo’s main building is still in Cervasca today, occupying 2.3 million square feet and 1,200 staff. The factory consists of 38 robots, 16 machining stations, 11 automated steel cutting lines and 3 high-tech powder coating lines. Merlo’s philosophy is to create as many in-house as possible (92 per cent) using automation.
WE'LL KEEP YOU MOVING
